Volvo Day!
Today is the big day! We get to pick up our new Volvo!
The day started with another delicious breakfast buffet at the hotel. Adeline was really loving the Swedish pancakes, yogurt, and cheese!
We ate a quick breakfast because at 9:30am Ralph was waiting in the lobby to take us to the Volvo Factory. He wasn't the most pleasant guy, and he didn't have the carseat installed properly so Adeline ended up getting jostled around while the straps were being tightened (won't make that mistake again!). But it was a fairly quick ride to the factory and our day just got better and better.
Upon arrival we were greeted by Matilda at the front desk. She was so helpful with everything! We helped ourselves to some coffee at the fancy coffee machine while we waited for Hans to get things ready for us. First we had to go over some paperwork. Then it was time to bring out the car! While we waited for that, we walked around the visitor's center and Adeline played in the kids area!
Finally, it was time!!
On our way back to the hotel we stopped by the store to get some bubbly! We needed to celebrate!
Adeline needed another little nap so we got her settled in the room then went to the hotel bar (only two minute walk away and we had the phone set up for a monitor!). We she woke up I fed her and we played in the room while Will took a quick dip in the outdoor, roof-top (heated!) pool.

Hans gave us a tour of our car and showed us all the bells and whistles. There are a lot! It's a good thing we'll get another lesson when we pick up our car in California.
Will took the car on a little test drive while Adeline and I stayed back and talked with Hans and picked out some new key chains from the gift shop.
Will arrived back to the Visitor's Center quite pleased with our new purchase! Hans took the car back to the shop so they could switch out our regular tires for snow tires (required in Sweden during winter!) and put in the car seat (another junky one, but it will work!). While that was going on we got to have lunch! It was a mediocre piece of salmon and potatoes, but a nice gesture nonetheless. They even had a highchair ready for Adeline - so sweet!
We still had some time before the car would be ready, so Adeline napped in her carrier while Will did a boring Virtual Reality video game. I had some fika!
And then finally the car was ready and Adeline was awake so we got to drive off with our new car!

We needed a little dinner so we went across the square for a quick pizza and salad dinner. Adeline was exhausted after our busy day so I ate super quick and took her back home for bed while Will finished things up at the restaurant. It was a bit of a hectic ending to the day but what a good day it was! Will had a quick phone call for work, and then we were off to bed. Tomorrow we start our road trip! Woo hoo!
