A Snowy Drive
This morning we had the last of the muesli that we brought along with us from Copenhagen, along with some fresh yogurt. Then Will got us all packed up and ready for our next adventure. Today our destination was Flåm. I drove us for about two hours through windy, snowy, pine tree mountains. It was a little terrifying even in a vehicle built for snowy conditions, so after we made a bathroom and Adeline feeding stop we switched drivers. Being that today was Sunday and we were driving through the very teeniest towns, there was nothing open for lunch, so we had a few snacks and just drove straight through. Will's portion of the drive was like a 100 miles long Yosemite with "cloud trees" tunnels, boggy swampy alpine meadows, misty highlands with dense orchards, and finally a 25 km tunnel ending in Flåm.
It was time to get Adeline to bed so we headed home, got her settled, and Will and I sipped some Hyggevine wine.
We arrived in Flåm very hungry! We checked into our apartment, dropped our bags, said a quick hello to the family who lives in the front of the house - Vegar, Christina, and Aslind, fed Adeline and let her wiggle around, but then headed off for dinner. We went into town to the AEgor Brewpub. I had a curry chickpea burger, Will had a venison burger, and Adeline had a pouch and lots of my veggie burger! We also had some delicious beer!
