Goodbye Volvo

I can't believe our adventure has come to an end! And what an adventure it has been.

Today started early for us - at 6:20am, because once again Adeline has gotten herself stuck in "tree pose" in her foot pajamas (we'll be order two piece sets upon landing!). At 7am I realized I never set the parking app to go the night before when Will got home from Amsterdam so he ran out quick to see if we had a ticket - phew! No ticket. So I set the app to go for parking until we were ready to leave, or so I thought because when we got out to the car there was a ticket. ugh! Good thing we're leaving Sweden tomorrow and they'll never be able to find us! Hans at Volvo said just to ignore it and that there was no way to pay the ticket online, that you had to go in to one of only a few places that accepts payments for tickets. Way too much work for us!

But our day started nicely, enjoying the snowfall and sipping coffee while Adeline napped.

Today was the first big snowfall of our entire trip.

Luckily it didn't take too long to get to the Volvo factory because we had a tour today! The factory was closed in early January when we picked up the car, so we were scheduled to visit today. No phones are allowed in the factory, but the robots and assembly lines were quite impressive. Even Adeline did an amazing job hanging out in the trolly for our hour long tour!

After the tour we got the paperwork settled for shipping the car back to California and had one last Fika. Adeline drove the floor model car while we waited for our driver to come pick us up!

Once we were back at the apartment it was time for Adeline's nap, so I got her settled while Will went and got us a burrito with jackfruit filling. It was yummy!

Adeline woke up and we wanted to make the most of our last night so we went on a little stroll in the neighborhood to Skansen Kronen. It was pretty steep so Adeline and I only went up half way, but Will went up to the top. Skansen Kronen is an old fortress that had twenty-eight cannons and 5-6 meter thick walls!

We went back home to give Adeline her last Scandinavian bath (for this trip at least!) and soup for dinner. Then she went to bed and Will and I had a feast of leftovers: garlic bread, tomato soup, pesto, and of course, bubbles. There was so much to celebrate and be thankful for, for this absolutely amazing adventure.
