Happy Birthday Will!
No, today isn't Will's actual birthday, it's June 10th, but he is going to be in Hawai`i for a work trip, so we celebrated a little bit early today and made it into his birthday! Continuing with the theme of exploring new places with this beautiful weather, I drove Will out to Stinson Beach and Bolinas for the day. It's about an hour away, and again, thanks to being up early with Adeline, we pulled in and got a great parking spot right before the rush. It was such a gorgeous (but very windy, as in curvy, not strong wind) road! We started our day with brunch on the patio at Breaker's Cafe.
We walked around the "town," all one block of it, and saw that there was live music at the other restaurant across the street, Sand Dollar Restaurant. (Yep, two restaurants!) We grabbed a seat and a drink and soaked up the beautiful weather. Adeline loved the music! And she even got a super cute onesie from one of the waitstaff! So cute she's getting free things already!
Adeline was such a trooper today with hardly a fuss! But it was time to get that little lady to sleep, so we continued on our way home. We were exhausted after such a fun, beautiful day!

We explored around town a little bit and visited the cutest art gallery with beautiful landscape watercolors done by a sweet French lady, Emmeline. I must have one of her works someday!
From there we walked down to the beach. We can't wait to come back for a beach day! (Although the water is much too cold for even a toe!)
We had sufficiently explored Stinson Beach so it was off to the next stop - Bolinas! Only about 15 minutes north of Stinson Beach, residents have removed all road signs leading to the small town, but we successful found this hidden little treasure.
Bolinas is even smaller than Stinson Beach, again with about one block of shops and two restaurants. We visited the hardware store and purchased a hummingbird feeder for our patio at home. It was time for Adeline to eat, so we stopped by the Coast Cafe for a snack on their back patio.
I had packed us a little pau hana picnic so we stopped by the car to get our picnic gear and walked down to the beach. It was just beautiful!
Will walked down the beach a little way.
Addie was waking up so we decided it was time to get moving and back on the road. On the drive we stopped at this incredible overlook where you can see Stinson Beach, Bolinas, and the Bolinas Lagoon.
We continued on our way with the intention of going to the Marin Brewing Company, but on our drive we came upon this cute little Inn with a beautiful restaurant on the top of Mt. Tam overlooking the valley below. We didn't get a picture, but here's one I found online from Californiabeaches.com.
Beautiful, right!? |
