More Viking Ships

If there's a Viking ship to be seen, Will's going to want to see it! So today we set off to Bygdøy, a super bougie suburb of Oslo.

We saw the Gokstad and Oseberg ships which were about 90% original and incredibly impressive. Will was surprised by the extent of and intricacy of all the wooden carvings. I especially liked the animal carvings that were used as decor on the boats : )

Will perused the gift shop a bit, and when he asked the clerk what he really thought of the some dried fish in a bag, he said it was truly horrible and he wouldn't suggest that anyone eat it. gross.

After the museum we went to Taverna'n downtown. We had delicious fish and chips with mushy peas (eww) and a chevre salad.

It was time for Adeline's nap so we went back to the apartment, and Will went out to get a few more groceries. Adeline had soup for dinner and played with the Viking Saga book that Will got from the museum. After Adeline went to bed Will and I had leftovers. yum!
