Exploring Oslo

As we began exploring Oslo we came to the conclusion that it is very much the Minneapolis of Scandinavia. There were some cute neighborhoods and things here and there, but certainly not a huge tourism industry as we'd been used to seeing. Today our plan was just to walk around and see what there was to see.

We started with just a relaxed morning around the apartment; and byggryn for breakfast of course.

Will found an awesome looking gastropub a short walk from our apartment, so we were going to eat there and then walk during Adeline's nap. On our way we stopped into a Norwegian sweater shop but they were still at least $250 as we had seen in Stockholm, so I guess we'll have to go to H & M in the states and pretend it's from Scandinavia! Anyway, when we got to the gastropub they were closed for renovations, so we had to come up with a new plan quick! Earlier in the day we had passed by the Oslo Mathallen (food hall) where we had Spanish smørrebrød (open face sandwich) and beer which were both excellent!

On our walk back to the apartment for Adeline's nap we saw these dog parking stalls outside the mathallen. I'm not sure I would want to put my dog in there!

We also had to make a stop at the car to put the stroller away.

While Adeline napped Will went to the grocery store for dinner ingredients. He walked past the royal palace, which was austere and minimalist.

Will made us garlic bread, fusilli, and marinara for dinner. yum!
