A Drive Through the North Pole?

Today we hit the road for Oslo. Before we got on our way we had some more byggryn for breakfast and took a few pictures around Flåm.

After enjoying a few more views around Flåm it was time to hit the road.

We made a quick stop at Borgund Stave Church.

We continued on our way and soon we were taking the mountain pass through the very top of the mountains! I was so relieved that there were so many other cars and even truckers on the same route. It felt so desolate and otherworldly up there.

Adeline woke up hungry so we pulled over for a little feeding sesh.

We thought she'd take over when she's 16 but she got to it a little sooner than we thought!

Today was probably THE longest car ride of the entire trip. We made a stop for lunch once we got through the mountain pass, at the Hemsedal Ski Resort. It was interesting to say the least. We had a mediocre quesadilla and veggie burger, and had to change Adeline in the booth because there was no changing table (yet it was totally a family friendly place)! At least we got a little something to eat and got back on the road again. Next stop Oslo!

We got in to Oslo right at rush hour so traffic was not so great, but the city looked pretty even in the dark. Our airbnb host didn't speak much English but was very friendly and welcoming and the apartment was beautiful.

Will was amazing and got the parking situation all figured out and brought all of the luggage up to our 7th floor walk up! Thank goodness that our place in Gothenburg has an elevator so Will doesn't have to do this any more! And now that we have the car we can leave the stroller in there - so one less thing to bring up!

Adeline needed some good wiggling so we stayed at home while Will went and picked up some Thai food for us (we hadn't found any the entire trip!). It was decidedly better than we could have expected of a Norwegian Thai restaurant. We had a nice night relaxing and planning out our first day in Oslo!

Our neighborhood all lit up at night!
