This weekend we had some beautifully warm weather, so we wanted to take advantage of that and do some exploring in the city! We hopped on the BART with our bikes, and set off from the Embarcadero station along the shoreline.
Below are pictures from
Crissy Field.
As we continued along the trail we stopped at the west end of Crissy Field, near the Torpedo Warf to have a picnic lunch in the West Bluff Amphitheater.
A little farther down we reached Fort Point, which is right at the base of the Golden Gate Bridge. We got to go inside and explore around!
Pieces made by soldiers with shell casings.

These are "fiesta" dresses, I was doing a fiesta move. |
|
We also got to go up to the top of the fort.
So close to the Golden Gate Bridge!
|
Really windy! Don't mind my hair, yikes! |
After exploring the fort we went back inland. We biked through the historic
Presidio district, which felt like European countryside, as well as the Pacific Heights neighborhood. We also stumbled upon some hiking/biking trails in this area that were just beautiful!

Found some horses! |

If you look closely I'm in between the two trees in the middle! |
|
woosh! |
|
cool! |
There were really pretty views of The Bay way up here!
We made our way down to Golden Gate Park, but by the time we finally got there it was getting pretty late. We stayed and rested for a little while and watched what Will called a "hippie drum circle" with a variety of participants playing drums, tambourines, and even cow bells! Before calling it a day we stopped at a local bar for a snack and beverage and watched the first half of the rugby championship game between the New Zealand All Blacks and Argentina. Soon we will go back and head right to Golden Gate Park. There are so many parts of the park to explore, including a mini bison ranch!
