Train Ride Through Sweden

Today was a travel day. I'm so happy that we built in days just for traveling so we didn't have to worry about squeezing any sightseeing into the days we traveled. Instead we got to just focus on getting from place to place and settling in (and with a little one in tow this was totally necessary!)

I'd been looking everywhere and asking lots of people about how early we should get to the train station for our trip to Stockholm, but no one seemed to know! I finally came across info that said we should be there 20 minutes before the departure time. So we got up and going in the morning but left our apartment a little later than we were planning on. This meant we didn't have much time to get to the train station so we really had to hustle. We got there with exactly 20 minutes until departure, only to find a sign that said that the walk to our platform was a 15 minute walk and also involved going up and down different floors (which meant searching for elevators!). We were so stressed and I thought for sure we were going to miss the train, but we ran all over and found the elevators too. We ended up getting there in about 5 minutes and had 10 minutes to spare! phew! After we got all settled relaxed, the big group of soccer guys on the train realized they were on the wrong train! So they quick scurried off and hopefully found the right train!

We had a smooth ride, Adeline napped and played, and we enjoyed the views of sublimating snow, lumber mills, and cute villages along the way. We had pasta salad, a veggie wrap, and delicious Brutal Brewing IPA for lunch.

Fun on the train!

Naps!
We left Copenhagen at 10:23am and arrived in Stockholm at 3:56pm. The walk to our apartment in Gamla Stan (old town) was a twenty minute enchanting walk through treacherous and gravely crosswalks and sidewalks.

Our apartment was in a fantastic location though up five flights of windy stairs! After we dropped things off we went to "Coop" grocery store to get ingredients for dinner - pesto! (and some breakfast goodies, too)

Adeline ended up being overtired and teething so she had a bit of a meltdown at bedtime, but Will got her settled and sleeping and she had a great night's sleep. (This would end up being her only bad night the whole trip which is great!)

Here she is!
