Merry Christmas!
Of course we miss celebrating Christmas with our families, but we absolutely love celebrating the holiday in other countries, getting a sense of how other cultures celebrate!
We had a delicious breakfast at home of salmon lox, let Adeline wiggle around, and then were off exploring.
It was pretty cold and windy but we bundled up and enjoyed the day! We strolled to Rosenborg Slot. At the entrance there was a little coffee shop that even had a little big of glögg left! Horray! Just what we needed to stay warm. I waited outside with Adeline (the shop was teeny tiny!) while Will went in. He chatted with the girl for a bit while she got the glögg warmed up. She said she had spent Christmas Eve with her family but that that was enough and she was spending Christmas Day with friends. ha!
While we explored the castle grounds we happened upon an incredible playground inspired by Hans Christian Andersen. There were so many structures to climb on and just all around a great place for creative play. I wish Adeline had been older so she could have played there. I guess we'll just have to come back!
We witnessed another changing of the guard while there, and saw a lot of very strange, somewhat gruesome copper statues (that of course were turquoise colored at this point!).
There was also a guy taking a picture of his dog balancing on a marble ball! So cute!
We headed home to warm up, let Adeline wiggle around, and have leftover falafel for lunch.
We spent the second part of the day exploring the "real" Copenhagen (aka not the touristy area!). We walked across the river to a brewery calle Brus. We had some snacks, Adeline had a pouch, and then we bundled up for a chilly walk home!
