New Year's Eve!

It's the last day of 2018! Where did the year go? We started the day with lots of wiggles in our apartment!

Shortly before nap time we ventured off into the freezing cold! Today was probably the coldest of all the days on our trip. We went back into Östermalm to get some fika from Fabrique. It was a tiny little place so we took the treats to go and had another "walking fika" but it was so cold I could only get in a bite here and there before I had to warm up my hands again. Adeline dozed pretty well during our walk (she did wake up but we got her back to sleep! hooray!).

What's an utfart?!
We eventually made our way back to the island across the way and had lunch at Ulla Wim Blandh at the edge of Skansen. I'm pretty sure it was the best meal of our trip! I had vegan patties with Lingonberries and Will had venison in a white reduction. So good!

So Scandinavian!
Fancy bubbles!

Comfy chair for Adeline!

After lunch we made our way to Skansen, an open-air museum showcasing Swedish traditions and craftsmanship, and wild animals!

Moose!

Reindeer

On our way back home it was so cold that even Will put his hood up!

It was really windy so we rolled Adeline backwards so that she wasn't getting the wind in her face. It was a little tricky!

After a really cold walk home we finally made it! It felt so good! While I got Adeline ready for bed Will went out to forage for a restaurant that would serve take away food. He stopped first at Ardbeg Embassy, a whisky bar, for a little tasting (this obviously was not a place we could have taken Adeline!).

After enjoying a much deserved whisky he was able to get takeaway from Michelangelo's again. No judging - everyplace had fixed price dinners and no takeaway, and the main reason they let him order take away is they recognized him from the night before. We were just so thankful for a yummy dinner! We quietly ate our pizza and pasta, and sipped bubbles (the kitchen was close to where Adeline was sleeping!) and were in bed by about 10pm! haha! At midnight Will and I woke up to the booms of the fireworks. They were going off all around the Gamla Stan island and we were so nervous about how Adeline would handle it. As we lay in bed just waiting for her to wake up screaming, we were shocked that they continued to go off and she just kept sleeping through! I have no idea how she did it! It was a quiet NYE just like any other night. I guess we're really parents now, right?!
