Visiting Lake Konigssee

Today we went and explored within the Lake Konigssee Valley. We took a boat ride across the lake to get to a valley area only accessible by this boat.

"Town" area from the boat

When we were in the valley this guy played his trumpet and we could listen to the echo.

Approaching the area we were headed to.

Nestled back in the valley is an old monastery, a restaurant, and beautiful hiking. We took a hike all the way into the mountains to find an ice cave!

Danger!

Almost there!

Inside the ice cave

The ice cave was spectacular, but after being in there for a little bit we noticed a huge sheet that had fallen, and decided we should probably get out . . . So it was back to the restaurant for some German beer and pretzels before we took the boat back.

After exploring around Lake Konigssee, Nate and Emily went back home for a little while and dropped Will and I off in the main town area of Berktesgaden. We were pleasantly surprised to see that their Advent Market was still open and so were some shops! horray! So we had fun walking around, sipping mulled wine, and being silly.

A little kid blacksmithing with his grandparents.

Made friends with the donkeys.
