A Magical Christmas Eve
What better place to celebrate Christmas Eve than Nuremberg, Germany! We walked around the city, hoping to pop in to some museums, but they were all closed. That is one thing we found about Germany at Christmas - the whole country was closed! Businesses were closed Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day (the 26th) and then the 27th was a Sunday and all stores are closed on Sundays. So for four days straight there wasn't a whole lot open, but we managed to keep ourselves busy despite all that.
Thursday morning we walked around the old city and along the old city wall.
We walked around the Christmas Market and had some lunch at a second story level restaurant that overlooked the market.
Then we explored around some of the old churches before mass began that night.
Finally we ended our day of exploration with a walk around the castle and beautiful nighttime city views.
As we were trying to find a place for dinner, we quickly found out that everything was closing up. Luckily we found an open table at the only restaurant open that night - Indian food! It was delicious and I felt like I was living the scene from the Christmas Story, only no one say "fa ra ra ra ra" for me.
It was a magical Christmas Eve to say the least!
