An Early 7th Anniversary Celebration

This year our wedding anniversary fell on a Monday, so we did a little early celebrating. We spent the day out on the Windward side near Kualoa Ranch. They own some beachfront property called "Secret Island." The only access is via boat and on the "island" you can paddle board, kayak, swim, play volleyball, and just relax.

We started the morning with a little boat ride over.


We spent our time paddle boarding, walking the beach and collecting coral for our bowl at home, and "kayaking." When I say "kayaking" I mean squishing in to a one person kayak and floating around taking in the sights and sipping on delicious beverages : ) It was a very relaxing morning!

I knew it would be around lunch time when we were done at the beach, so I packed us a picnic to enjoy. We drove up the coast a little bit until we found the perfect picnic and swimming spot.




When we got home we had a bit of time before our dinner reservations for sushi, of course! We finally got our solar lights strung up on the lanai! I forgot to take any pictures at dinner, but when we got home we tested them out. They look so pretty! More pictures to come soon as we keep doing a few more updates out there.

Happy Halloween!

Even though last year was technically Adeline's first Halloween, this year felt like the first true Halloween because we got to go out and enjoy the festivities! The Temescal Business District hosted a Trick-or-Treating event for the kids and had fun activities along the way like free books from the library, story time, a dance party at the yoga studio, costume contests, and more I'm sure but we only made it a few blocks! We had a great time and the businesses were so generous and kind to the kids. Our little ladybug! She would only wear the wings from her costume, but she held on to the wand and headband. There was a fun skirt, too but she didn't want anything to do with it. Oh well. People still thought she was cute! Getting some raisins. Still trying to understand the concept of Trick-or-Treating! Will Pitches Hawaii

Will's company, Terviva, recently won a grant allowing them to get a commercial size planting of their trees in the ground. The project will take place mostly on the island of Oahu. As part of the grant program the company is invited to pitch its concept to a group of about 250 private investors from the state of Hawaii. Since Will has been working so hard on getting the project going, he was the person chosen to give the pitch! Will worked incredibly hard preparing for this event and did a great job! Will created new connections and peaked the interest of several people in the audience. Will has received great praise for his work by his colleagues and the people who are offering the grant. A Day in Napa Valley

Beginning with our first wedding anniversary, Will and I have spent a day visiting a winery or two.  It was my dream that someday we would take a trip to Napa or Sonoma to celebrate our anniversary; maybe for our 20th anniversary or the like. Never did I imagine that we would be spending our third wedding anniversary exploring Napa and San Francisco! We decided a short while ago that we didn't want to have to worry about either of us driving, one, because neither of us really knew where we were going, two, so that both of us could look out the windows and enjoy the scenery, and three is a no brainer, we would be tasting wine all day!  We explored some options and decided on a shuttle bus tour that would take us from SF to Napa, take us to several wineries, and end with a ferry ride on the bay back into the city.
