Usually when Will and I go on vacation we try to get in as much exploring and adventuring as possible. This trip was different. It was meant for a time to slow down. And today especially, that's exactly what we did. We had such a beautiful, comfy, cozy cabin, why leave? So we slept in, ate a slow breakfast, read the paper and some books, ate lunch, and watched the Badgers basketball game (That last shot was insane! Poor badgers.).
Will was really wanting to get out a bit though since the rain had let up, so we drove down to the Index Distillery and Brewery, which was a local woodsy guy named Charles who turned an old cafe into a distillery on one side and a brewery on the other. It felt more like a home brewery, and had that itty bitty town, local feel. We sat with Charles and "Black Cat" while we sipped some of his beer and talked about the current happenings around town (Mostly the dealing with of local bears and the lack of road repairs in the area due to money staying in the Seattle area.)

When we got back to the cabin Will wanted to go for a walk. So much for my lazy day around the cabin! Sheesh! So we walked down to the end of our quiet street. We came across a cute little park the neighborhood had made complete with picnic table, fire pit, and tree swing!

Will was constantly obsessing over the vast amount of moss covering all the trees. |

Finally it was time to walk home and cozy up in the cabin. We cooked dinner, made a fire, and soaked in the hot tub. Tomorrow it's up early to head back to Seattle!
