Island Day Trip

Two of our friends from Minnesota, Jen and Dan, were stopping through Oahu on their second honeymoon, and we had the pleasure of hosting them for a couple days! We wanted to give them a few different experiences on the island, and we decide to start the day off with a beautiful hike. We had never done the Makapu'u Lighthouse Trail before, but knew it was a beautiful, moderate hike, that even President Obama and Malia like to do! While we were there we were able to see across to Molokai and saw several wales as well. It was a great start to our day.

From the lighthouse we drove up H-3, a spectacular highway that cuts through mountains and rainforest, and spent the rest of the day on the North Shore. We took them to Luibuenos for lunch, Bonzai Pipeline to watch surfing, and Laniakea Beach to see turtles.

All the times we've been to Laniakea and I've never noticed this sign before!

Turtles!

We had a great visit with Jen and Dan!
