Goodbye Rory

It is with so much sadness that we say goodbye to Rory. We learned on Tuesday of this week that what we thought was an absess, or maybe even a tumor, under her jaw was excess bone growth that was trying to compensate for bone loss caused by aggressive cancer in her mouth. It was clear that even though Rory hadn't been showing it much, she was in a lot of pain. We were able to bring our little kitty back home with us for a few days, showering her with love, cuddles, tuna, time outside, and some pain medication. It became more clear over the week that it really was Rory's time to say goodbye. It was a couple of the most devastating weeks I've ever experienced, but I'm so glad she was our kitty and that we had endless adventures together. Rory now rests in the side garden of our home and we can't wait to make it a beautiful memorial garden for her in the Spring.
