Visiting the Aquarium
When we were in Hawai`i I took Adeline to the Waikiki Aquarium and she had absolutely zero interest. However, the tanks were not at her level and it was really busy. She was also in her mood so who really knows! But as I had hoped she loved the Monterey Bay Aquarium! There were so many spaces dedicated for kids that I didn't remember from last time we were there (when you aren't looking for it, you don't notice!). It was also really nice that we were able to buy two day passes from our hotel for the same cost as a regular ticket. Not only did we get to skip the ticket line but we got to go both mornings we were there!
We woke to a spectacularly gorgeous day. This kind of weather is rare in Monterey!
Adeline enjoyed watching the scuba diver clean the kelp tank.
And she loved splashing around in and touching the animals of the tide pool tanks!
She thought the penguins were fun, but was not willing to sit still for them! Surprise, surprise!
Next we were off to the baby zone!
This is where we ended our morning at the aquarium today. It was so nice to know that we could save some for the next day! We headed back to the hotel for Adeline's nap and Will and I had lunch on the patio.
When Adeline woke up she and Will did a little bird watching. I think she liked the view from her crib!
After Adeline's nap we went exploring! She seemed really excited about the water so Will took her for a little toe dip. She loved it so much and didn't want to leave! We took off her clothes so she could do a little more splashing. We brought a hotel towel along, but I hadn't packed any swimsuits or beach gear because I was expecting chilly and foggy, not hot and sunny!
The rest of the day we had to walk with the ocean out of sight otherwise Adeline would just fuss and point at the ocean! She is definitely a water baby.
Our destination this afternoon was Alvarado Street Brewery in Downtown Monterey, about a 25 minute walk from the hotel. Along the way we stumbled upon a Turkish Festival!
We got Adeline to bed and again enjoyed a beautiful evening on the patio. We needed it after the evening we had!
