Wine Country in the New Car

We were excited to take the Volvo on a road trip and what better occasion than Jim and Kathy being in The Bay! It was a little chilly but perfect sweater weather and a nice glass of bold red wine warmed you right up! We took them to our favorite restaurant, Brasswood, which we stumbled upon last fall. Adeline had so much fun there! There are even great windows along the bench seating to look out. We had amazing fresh made mozzarella and a fish sandwich, and amazing wine of course. Adeline had salmon salad and sweet potatoes.








Then we loaded in the car to go do some tasting. We were going to visit Mumm Napa, but it didn't work out so we went down the street to Silver Oak. Will and I had been wanting to visit and it turns out that Jim and Kathy had been many years ago and really enjoyed it when they were there so were happy to return!

While the others finished up in the tasting room Adeline and I went back to the car to get ready to go. We took a little snack break in the trunk. We are loving the extra space in the car!

We hit the road to go back to Oakland. Adeline had a lovely nap on the way. For dinner we ordered our favorite Star pizza. It was a wonderful day!

Happy Halloween!

Even though last year was technically Adeline's first Halloween, this year felt like the first true Halloween because we got to go out and enjoy the festivities! The Temescal Business District hosted a Trick-or-Treating event for the kids and had fun activities along the way like free books from the library, story time, a dance party at the yoga studio, costume contests, and more I'm sure but we only made it a few blocks! We had a great time and the businesses were so generous and kind to the kids. Our little ladybug! She would only wear the wings from her costume, but she held on to the wand and headband. There was a fun skirt, too but she didn't want anything to do with it. Oh well. People still thought she was cute! Getting some raisins. Still trying to understand the concept of Trick-or-Treating! Will Pitches Hawaii

Will's company, Terviva, recently won a grant allowing them to get a commercial size planting of their trees in the ground. The project will take place mostly on the island of Oahu. As part of the grant program the company is invited to pitch its concept to a group of about 250 private investors from the state of Hawaii. Since Will has been working so hard on getting the project going, he was the person chosen to give the pitch! Will worked incredibly hard preparing for this event and did a great job! Will created new connections and peaked the interest of several people in the audience. Will has received great praise for his work by his colleagues and the people who are offering the grant. A Day in Napa Valley

Beginning with our first wedding anniversary, Will and I have spent a day visiting a winery or two.  It was my dream that someday we would take a trip to Napa or Sonoma to celebrate our anniversary; maybe for our 20th anniversary or the like. Never did I imagine that we would be spending our third wedding anniversary exploring Napa and San Francisco! We decided a short while ago that we didn't want to have to worry about either of us driving, one, because neither of us really knew where we were going, two, so that both of us could look out the windows and enjoy the scenery, and three is a no brainer, we would be tasting wine all day!  We explored some options and decided on a shuttle bus tour that would take us from SF to Napa, take us to several wineries, and end with a ferry ride on the bay back into the city.
