Nate Visits!

We were so excited to have our friend Nate from Madison come to visit, even if only for a quick weekend. It was my Spring Break and Will was able to get the day off, so we had all day Friday and Saturday to spend together. (I would like to mention that many of the pictures within this post were taken by Nate. He is becoming quite the photographer!)

Nate got in to town Thursday night. After his arrival we walked up the street to have some sushi. The guys enjoyed 99 cent saki! We then introduced Nate to some local establishments like The Trappist beer room and McNally's, which I've mentioned here before. We called it a night early because we had big plans for Friday!

On our must-do list that is about a million miles long was visiting the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Much to our delight, Nate mentioned that he wanted to go during his stay. So we woke up at the crack of dawn and hopped in the car by 8am. Monterey is about a two hour drive from Oakland, and a beautiful one at that! We had so much fun in Monterey! I can't wait to go back because you can actually go kayaking in the bay right up next to the sea otters that live there! So cute!!!

First stop, otters!

Cannery Row.

I took this picture for my dad. I thought it was a funny name for a restaurant!

Back to the aquarium.

This exhibit was sooo cool!

Major props to Nate. I still think he should sell this to the aquarium to use for advertising!

After the aquarium and hanging around Monterey for the day, we decided to head to the north end of the bay to Santa Cruz for dinner at Las Olitas Cantina on Fisherman's Warf. It was a beautiful evening for dinner along the water. We even got to watch otters swim while we ate!

The little dot is the otter!

Delicious fish tacos!

Today was the second day of the Giants' Home Opener weekend. They didn't win against the St. Louis Cardinal rivals, but it was a beautiful day for baseball. It was also the day that Buster Posey was awarded his MVP from the previous season, and we even got a Buster Posey bobblehead doll!

Later that night we met up with some friends in the city for dinner. On our way to dinner we stopped in Alamo Square to see the Full House houses and a glimpse at Twin Peaks! All of these pics are thanks to Nate!
