Fourth of July in SF

After a few days of working on putting together the apartment we needed a day off! We left our apartment, still stacked floor to ceiling with boxes, and ventured to San Francisco for the day. We took the BART to Embarcadero and walked along the waterfront. We explored a bit around Pier 39 and then headed into the city. We walked toward downtown and stopped in at the Mark Hopkins InterContinental Hotel to have a drink and snack at The Top of the Mark. There we had spectacular views of the city and Bay Area! Too bad it was a bit cloudy, though.  We then wandered into Chinatown where there was a group of guys setting off what were sure to be illegal fireworks in the middle of the streets and intersections! For dinner we ate at the famous Stinking Rose before heading back to Pier 39 to enjoy the fireworks!
