Happy Easter!

What would  normally be a day spent outside at a picnic was a day spent at home on the lanai. We are just so thankful for everything we have right now. It was a very simple celebration and didn't feel any different than any other day, but that's OK. Adeline spent the afternoon splashing in her water table!

Minneapolis Love

We are so lucky to have such wonderful friends in our lives. We were invited to the wedding of two dear friends, JJ and Ashley, which was happening in Minneapolis. We decided to make a week of it and see our wonderful friends. Friday and Saturday nights we stayed with our friends Sean and Kiri. I have to say that I got a little caught up in everything and sadly didn't take that many pictures of our time in Minneapolis. Here we are at the wedding on Saturday evening.

Mountain Biking through the Redwoods

Will has been yearning to go Mountain biking since the day before we knew we were even moving to California - ha! When we got out here we knew we needed to upgrade my bike, so I got a brand spanking new one on sale at REI back in July. I'd used it several times just around the city, but it was time to go test it out on some trails! We ventured off to Redwood Regional Park which is a whopping 15 minute drive from our apartment, right here in Oakland. We are so lucky to have such diversity in landscape just a short distance from us! When we got there we started off with a picnic lunch in the Redwood Bowl, which is a big opening in the middle of the park. It was an extremely foggy morning. It was 12:15 already and still this foggy! It made for a really cool atmosphere though, it felt like a rainforest inside. Then we were off on our bike ride. A Busy Week!

We have been up to quite a lot this week! Sunday, April 14 We went into the city to have Dim Sum at a Chinese restaurant with Hawley's friends and family. It was nice to spend more time with her California contingency! Monday, April 15 Hawley made us enchiladas! It was lovely to have a homemade meal in my kitchen that is a little different than what Will and I typically make! And the best part is that with the leftovers she made us tortilla soup to put in the freezer for a ready-made dinner later on. Tuesday, April 16 - Wednesday, April 17 Jim and H awley took some time to do things on their own, and allow Will and I to keep to a somewhat regular schedule since we both still had to work. Hawley made us spaghetti dinner on Wednesday, and during the week we've played a lot of boardgames like Sequence and Clue!
