Happy New Year's Eve!

Today marks the start of our next adventure - a 275 mile road trip with three adults, two toddlers, and a whole lotta stuff! The kids did remarkably well. Adeline was so entertained just watching Margaretta and Mo in the back seat! Neither of them slept but they were such good little passengers. We only had to do two quick potty breaks along the way. It's taken just Will and I so much longer sometimes - I was so impressed!

We got to Minneapolis around 2pm and our Airbnb was all set and ready for us, thank goodness! I don't think I've ever stayed at a nicer place. It truly felt like home! They had a pack 'n play all set up for Adeline so after a little energy burn upon arrival Adeline got to take a good long nap. She almost put herself in to bed she was so tired!

That evening JJ and Ashley came over with their sweet boys. We had a pizza dinner, drinks, sound makers, and a New Year's countdown at 7:45pm! We were living on the wild side! I think Adeline went to bed about 9pm that night; she was such a little party girl. (Will and I made it until 11:15, ha!) We were going to put her to sleep earlier but she was just having too much fun with her new friends. This was one of the best NYE celebrations we've had in the last few years!

A Tough Day

Today was a tough day for the little keiki. For whatever reason she just didn't want to nap in her crib, and instead needed to be rocked in the rocking chair. She wasn't hungry, wasn't sick, and doesn't even have a tooth coming through yet. I guess she just needed some Mama cuddles. Though I missed having my "break" to do things like shower, eat, ya know, no big deal, I reminded myself that someday in the not-so-distant future I'll be longing for these days of holding her in my arms while she sleeps. So, we enjoyed a very slow paced day around the house filled with snuggles. In between the rocking chair naps we did get in a little fun playtime though!

Happy Halloween!

Even though last year was technically Adeline's first Halloween, this year felt like the first true Halloween because we got to go out and enjoy the festivities! The Temescal Business District hosted a Trick-or-Treating event for the kids and had fun activities along the way like free books from the library, story time, a dance party at the yoga studio, costume contests, and more I'm sure but we only made it a few blocks! We had a great time and the businesses were so generous and kind to the kids. Our little ladybug! She would only wear the wings from her costume, but she held on to the wand and headband. There was a fun skirt, too but she didn't want anything to do with it. Oh well. People still thought she was cute! Getting some raisins. Still trying to understand the concept of Trick-or-Treating!
