A Rainy Day in Seattle

We woke up for the last morning to the sound of the rushing Skykomish River. This cabin is really one of the most magical places. You must visit! We surely will be going back. After eating our last breakfast with such a beautiful view we finished packing up and cleaning up the cabin and headed for the city! Our first stop of the day was a roadside espresso hut. These are everywhere, each with their own theme. This one was a windmill! Once we got in the city we went straight to our hotel - the good old Holiday Inn. Thanks to Will's hard work and travel we got another free stay! We set our bags down and headed out to the Chihuly Garden and Glass Museum. It was filled with Chihuly's beautiful glass blown pieces. After seeing our friend Jonathan make glass pieces, we had a great appreciate for the work that went into the unbelievable creations. Slowing Down

Usually when Will and I go on vacation we try to get in as much exploring and adventuring as possible. This trip was different. It was meant for a time to slow down. And today especially, that's exactly what we did. We had such a beautiful, comfy, cozy cabin, why leave? So we slept in, ate a slow breakfast, read the paper and some books, ate lunch, and watched the Badgers basketball game (That last shot was insane! Poor badgers.). Will was really wanting to get out a bit though since the rain had let up, so we drove down to the Index Distillery and Brewery, which was a local woodsy guy named Charles who turned an old cafe into a distillery on one side and a brewery on the other. It felt more like a home brewery, and had that itty bitty town, local feel. We sat with Charles and "Black Cat" while we sipped some of his beer and talked about the current happenings around town (Mostly the dealing with of local bears and the lack of road repairs ...
