Beautiful Lanikai

Image
It had been too long since we've had a full beach day so we got up Sunday morning and decided on Lanikai. I packed us a picnic and we were on our way. It was a gorgeous day full of relaxation. We ended the day with homemade ice cream at Kailua Ice Cream. I got Hawaiian Salted Caramel in a homemade waffle cone and Will got Green Tea. It was so good I forgot to take pictures! This view on a beach day never gets old.

The Girls

Of course I have to put the girls up every once and a while. Here they are, enjoying Hawai`i life.

Jack Johnson in Hawai`i

Image
Back in April it was announced that Jack Johnson would be performing two outdoor shows at the Waikiki Shell. I was so excited to cross this one off the bucket list! We've never seen Jack Johnson live and I always dreamed about seeing him in Hawai`i. I'm so glad I was able to get tickets for the show. We went with two of our dear friends, Dawn and Jill, and had the most amazing time. The show was part of the Kokua Foundation (Jack and Kim's foundation) and featured a lot of local non profits that are working toward a more sustainable Hawai`i. Here we pledged to carry reusable shopping bags and bring reusable utensils (spoiler, we already do! yeah!). Before the main show, Jack and some of his band members put on a show for the kids. It was super cute. (Fun to see them up close, too!) Then the main show began. It was the most beautiful concert I've ever been to. Jack even brought up about ten different local artists to perform with him throughout the show.
