Wisconsin Family Time

We had a lovely relaxing week in Madison. (Well, relaxing for me, Will did a lot of yard work at his parents house!) But we did get lots of quality time in with the parents, some friends, and extended family. Despite all the rain we even got in a BBQ at Will's parents' house. Our last day in Wisconsin was spent in Milwaukee. My parents and Will and I drove to visit my Aunt Ann and Uncle Don. We had a delicious lunch at Panera (Panera, you are so yummy! Why are you not in Hawai`i?) followed by a stroll through the Botanical Gardens. We spotted a few tropical flowers and plants that we're used to seeing in Hawai`i, but saw lots of plants that we don't get to see these days. Will loved all the smells.

A Weekend in Minneapolis!

I can't believe that it's been three years since I've been back to Minneapolis. Will has had the opportunity to go with work for an oilseed conference that is usually held there in November, but I haven't been able to go along. We are so fortunate that many of our friends have been able to come visit us in Hawai`i, but we missed them all nonetheless. I was so excited that during this year's summer trip back to the Midwest we were able to get in a weekend in Minneapolis. We had a lovely brunch with friends and their kids on Friday morning, and a great BBQ Friday night with another group of friends. On Saturday we popped around the city enjoying local establishments and spending time with our friends. The night ended with pizza and game night at our friends' house.
